The 91st edition of méLAWnge emerged as a compelling blend of legal scholarship, historical reflection, and student engagement. The edition's thematic sections offered readers a rich tapestry of insights. In Stalwarts Speak (Maritime Law), contributions from maritime legal experts, Ms. Sindhura Polepalli, Mr. Zarir Bharucha, and Mr. Shardul Thacker demystified international maritime law, tracing its evolution in India and exploring the sector's future. Ms. Polepalli, a distinguished maritime legal consultant, has been instrumental in shaping India's maritime policy and law. The History of Women in Law and GLC section, penned by Vishwajeet Deshmukh, highlighted trailblazing figures like Cornelia Sorabji, India's first female advocate, and Mithan Jamshed Lam, the first Indian woman barrister and the first Indian woman lawyer at the Bombay High Court. Their pioneering journeys at Government Law College set the stage for future generations of women in law. In mythoLAWgical, Ms. Samhita Arni explored the intersection of law and mythology through the story of Kannagi from the Tamil epic Cilappatikāram, illustrating timeless concepts of justice and duty. The edition also featured Lex-Cryptic 11, a legal-themed crossword puzzle, engaging readers in a fun yet challenging manner. Through these diverse sections, the 91st edition of méLAWnge not only showcased the dynamic interplay between law, history, and culture but also underscored the magazine's commitment to fostering a comprehensive understanding of the legal landscape.
