Launch 2019-20
90th edition of méLAWnge, was launched virtually on the 4 of December, 2020 as the standout moment of a rather quiet year, anchored by an exclusive interview with Hon’ble Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, whose insights elevated the issue from routine to profound constitutional reflection. Complementing this was a keynote from our virtual Chief Guest, Justice G.S. Patel.
Justice Chandrachud’s reflections repainted the role of Indian judges: no moral litmus or ritual worship is required, but the Constitution demands impartiality over faith, societal pressure or tradition. Justice G.S. Patel’s virtual message echoed that lawyers are duty-bound to “park your morality” and provide zealous, fair representation to every client, even those with unpopular causes.
In “mythoLAWgical” segment, Mr. Apurv Kumar Mishra revisited the epics not as mythic past but as living sources of constitutional values. Additionally, the issue featured a special segment titled “Stalwarts Speak,” focusing on Intellectual Property Rights, with valuable contributions from Mr. Manmohan Singh, Mr. T. Prashant Reddy, and Ms. Priyanka Khimani, offering expert insights on evolving IP challenges in India.
Reports on the most vibrant facets of college life: inter‑college debates, moot court finals, national quiz participation, and community legal outreach programmes were commemorated through the magazine.
The event ended with Chief Student Editors, Isha Prakash and Rhea Rao expressing heartfelt gratitude to every contributor, mentor, and supporter of the 90th edition.
