The 89th edition of méLAWnge, was launched in 2019 and the edition featured an insightful editorial and an interview with Mrs. Justice Sujata Manohar (Retd.), a former judge of the Supreme Court of India, who shared her perspectives on the judiciary's role in upholding constitutional values. In-depth articles addressed pressing legal topics, including counter-terrorism laws, tax compliance, and street harassment, providing critical analyses of these complex issues. A dedicated section titled "A Prodigal Parliament: An Influx of 'Bills'" examined significant legislative developments such as the Fugitive Economic Offenders Act, 2018, and the Specific Relief (Amendment) Act, 2018, which sought to enhance the enforceability of contracts and the remedies available for breach of contract. To engage readers, the edition included Lex-Cryptic 9, a crossword puzzle with a legal theme, challenging readers to test their legal knowledge and reasoning skills. The magazine also highlighted key events and competitions organized by the college, including the annual debate, "Knock-Out!", and the Dinesh Vyas Memorial GLC National Legal Essay Writing Competition and the Sir Dinshah Mulla Legal Essay Writing Competition, celebrating scholarly writing and legal research among students. A special tribute was paid to Dr. T. K. Tope, former principal of Government Law College and a distinguished legal academician, honoring his contributions to legal education and his enduring legacy in shaping the institution's academic environment.
