KnockOut! 2021-22

Knock-Out! is the flagship event of the Magazine Committee, featuring an annual debate between two teams of two speakers each—one current GLC student and one ex-student advocate. They engage in intense deliberation on the issue at hand to win the audience's vote. The winner is decided by a prominent legal expert serving as Moderator, along with audience vote. The topic for this year’s edition ‘Of Rights and Rites: Should Courts Intervene In Interpreting Matters of Religious Importance?’. The topic arises out of the impending question of the discordant relation between law and religion, along with the authority of courts to interpret religious activities garnering differentiated views from the public. Representing the Proposition were Ex-student, Advocate Ms. Pooja Natarajan and final year student Ms. Drashti Gala. Advocate Mr. Janak Panicker and final year student Mr. Janay Jain represented the Opposition. Both the sides presented stimulating arguments and tackled the topic with maturity. The debate was Moderated by esteemed Advocate Mr. Sharan Jagtiani, who has been instrumental in making this edition of Knock-Out! successful.
