Do Not Stand At My Grave and Weep: A Rendition

Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep; I am the rain that brings respite after a destructive drought, I am the lover you always sought; I am a warm afternoon after weeks of snow, I am a baby’s chuckle when he sees something glow; I am the tears of joy the new mother weeps, I am the little girl who caresses her younger brother to sleep; I am the small leaf, born from the womb of rocks, I am the support of the misunderstood man everybody mocks; I am the inner force helping the pullet break open the egg shell, I am the proud father’s eyes, in secrecy they swell; I am the thunder that roars, I am the strength of the weak fisherman still holding his oars; Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die. - Unnati Rajput (V-I)
